On Tuesday, February 24, 2004 the New York Republican County Committee
held its Annual Lincoln Day Dinner at the New York Sheraton Hotel and
Towers. Governor George E. Pataki and Mayor Michael Bloomberg were
on hand to help welcome special guest California Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger and honorees William D. Harris, CEO of the 2004
Republican National Convention, and New York State's First Lady Libby
Pataki. New York Republican County Committee Chairman James A.
Ortenzio presented Schwarzenegger with an authentic 19th century samurai
sword (below), which the new California Governor jokingly vowed to use to "help
cut the budget" in California.
