  Issues:

Ed Daniels has enjoyed tremendous success in both the public and private sectors due to his tireless work ethic.  Now he would like to serve as your Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 15th Congressional District, so that he can put his vast years of experience to work for you.  He will advocate on behalf of and work to build coalitions of concerned citizens to strengthen our District’s voice on matters of common interest in the 15th Congressional District. These issues include:

Veterans: He is a member of the Veterans’ Health Task Force that led in the successful struggle to keep open the Manhattan and Brooklyn V.A. Medical Centers.  He supports and endorses legislation that will grant immediate U.S. citizenship to all Honorably Discharged immigrant veterans that have served in combat/hostile fire areas, conflicts, wars, police actions, etc. as designated by the U.S. government.  He shall continue to strongly advocate for the creation of Community Based Veterans’ Organizations’ Resource Centers for our returning soldiers from Afghanistan & Iraq to ensure greater accessibility to veterans’ services.

Education: He will push to hold parents to greater accountability for their children's education and school attendance and the enforcement of current laws in this regard. He will strongly encourage and promote for more public and private partnerships as a way to develop/provide for more resources for after school programs. He will seek more funding for development of Charter Schools for moderate/low income people.

Housing: Affordable housing is a must and very necessary to keep and maintain "family structure" in the city and viability of communities and neighborhoods. Affordable housing will stabilize the long term inhabitants and greatly impact the reduction of homelessness.  He favors a multi-tier income (“Work Force”) housing initiative that would incorporate percentages of tenants of  diverse incomes and provide subsidies to those of  lower income levels.

Small Business: Supports the creation, expansion and eligibility criteria for a new Empowerment Initiative that would allow for more participation of small businesses and greater neighborhood and community economic growth, thus increasing the vitality of the neighborhood. He will push for greater access to more favorable and low-cost loans for small businesses to renovate, purchase and/or update equipment.

Health Care:  He endorses and supports legislation that will provide affordable Health Care for ALL Americans.
